Rainbow Goats is for sale

Hi, I'm San. For the past 6 years, Rainbow Goats has been more than a business to me: it's been a real labour of love, and I'm so proud of what it's grown into. The time has come for me to start a new chapter, and I'd love to hand the reins to someone who'll care for it the way I have: a goat-loving outdoor enthusiast ready to take on a business that's already thriving. If that sounds like you, I'd love to hear from you, just get in touch below.

Scalable goat grazing business, Northern Rivers NSW.

The rare business where your core asset multiplies itself.

Established 2021. Financial year revenue of approximately $161,000 on operating expenses of just $6,400 (excluding vehicle and owner's compensation). Margins like this are rare in any industry. Rarer still: the asset that generates the revenue breeds. Every season, natural increase grows your capacity for free.

The business.

Rainbow Goats runs a herd of approximately 100 goats as all-terrain lawnmowers, moved between client properties inside portable electric netting to graze down unwanted vegetation, control invasive weeds and reduce bushfire fuel loads. Cheaper than machinery, safer than herbicides, and the goats leave behind fertilised soil rather than emissions or chemical residue. No acreage required. The herd lives on client properties and rotates between jobs. A minimum job size of 8 acres keeps the work efficient and margins strong.

Proven, oversubscribed demand. Operating across the Northern Rivers, Rainbow Goats has grown into a well-known local brand with back-to-back bookings year after year, repeat contracts with the Rural Fire Service and property developers, and a long-standing waitlist. The business has been deliberately kept small by its current owner. The demand has not.

The growth opportunity.

This is where a business-minded buyer should pay attention:

  • One herd today, several tomorrow, at almost no acquisition cost. Simply allow natural increase to run and the herd expands itself. Within a few seasons you can split into two, then three or more herds working simultaneously on different properties, each generating its own revenue stream while overheads barely move.

  • The workload scales with staff, not with you. A documented Standard Operating Procedure manual covers herd management, fencing setup, client onboarding and seasonal care, making the role easy to hand to employed herders as herds multiply.

  • A franchise-ready model. A proven brand, a repeatable playbook, minimal capital requirements and a service in demand across regional Australia. Everything is in place to license the system to operators in neighbouring regions and beyond.

  • The market is already waiting. The Northern Rivers alone has more than enough work to keep several herds busy at once, reflected in the current waitlist and warm enquiry list that transfer with the sale.

Or simply enjoy it as it is. Run solo, the business delivers a comfortable full-time income on 10 to 20 hours per week of outdoor work in one of Australia's most beautiful regions: setting up netting and moving the goats to a fresh section every few days. Flexible enough to operate alongside other employment, a side business or part-time study while the herd quietly grows your expansion capital in the paddock.

Included at settlement: the full herd and equipment, the detailed Standard Operating Procedure manual, a current list of warm enquiries, and a hands-on training and handover period with the outgoing owner.

Ideal for a growth-minded operator who sees what this could become, as well as outdoor enthusiasts, regenerative-agriculture advocates and sea-changers wanting an established business with proven demand and meaningful environmental impact.
